E-BLAST EDITION 019
EAST COAST FACES : Kya Faust

Eclectic in every way is Kya Faust.  Whether it's her career, music or fashion this word seems to sum up the Gemini, mother of three and it suits her to a T.

The designer and stylist takes time out before her official duties as a Fashions on the Field judge at this years Winter Racing Carnival to give us her advice and tips when preparing our look.  READ MORE

HEAR : Hilltop Hoods

I've always tried to do /
the right thing in my life /
take care of my house, my picket fence /
my children and my wife /
on my way home /
on my way home/
I'm on my way home /
Clark Griswold, here I go

It’s been nearly two years since the Hilltop Hoods have put out a track, but they’ve broken the drought with Clark Griswold, a track named after the clueless Chevy Chase character from National Lampoon’s Vacation movies. So what’s with the Dad tracks? Well, the boys reckon it’s an ode to fatherhood with all its flaws and failures, and they’ve included the sweet sounds of rising Aussie RnB artist Adrian Eagle. It’s on our East Coast Spotify playlist and you can hear it here…

and on apple music here…

TASTE :  SO FRENCHY, SO CHIC!

If you missed Bastille Day last weekend you can still get your French on at Cedric Corre patisserie. Cedric offers a Francophile fix with an Aussie twist with exquisite croissants, macarons, cakes, pastries, breads and even pies and sausage rolls made using both locally sourced and French ingredients.
Cedric says his patisserie is ‘A cake shop bridging Paris and Townsville,’ we say, if you haven’t tried the almond croissants or the chocolate and custard twist (pictured), you haven’t lived!
You’ll find Cedric Corre at the Woolworths shopping centre, Hermit Park, they’re open from Mondays to Saturdays,  – and for some serious food envy, check out their instagram here…

NEW : Triple treat!

Interiors, plants and coffee – what a winning combo!
You can find this tempting trio of life’s necessities at Botanical Style, which opened its doors yesterday at 120a Charters Towers Road, just up from the Hermit Park Woolies.
Pop in and say hi to property styling guru Kym Wilson, floral finder Andrea, and settle in for a nourishing bite and a coffee from barista Aish while you browse the homewares, living gifts and native and tropical NQ fresh-grown flowers in a cloud of coffee and floral aromas – scentsational!
GO : Trackside, ladies!
Get your frock on and hold onto your hatinator because this years’ Townsville Jaguar Land Rover Ladies Race Day is going to be HUGE. There’s three options, the Ladies Day Marquee for $220, the Winning Post lawns for $65, but we’re loving the country-club-styled pop-up bar, Little Green Lawns. For $70 you can sit under umbrellas or faux apple trees, watch the race action, play bocce, and listen to live acoustic tunes, plus private bar and loos.  General Admission is $25, kids accompanied by an adult are free, so head trackside – Saturday July 21, you can get your tickets here...
