You might remember Stan Walker from the last season of Australian Idol back in 2009, when the Aussie-born Kiwi put the ‘Ohhh’ into soul, and took home the Idol title. He's recorded and performed ever since, but last year he lost a lot of weight. People thought he was on drugs, but it wasn’t anything like that, it was a rare gene mutation that meant if he didn’t have radical surgery he would die.
Stan has released an EP with the first track, Thank You – dedicated to his Mum, and he’s filmed a documentary, saying, “I wanted to make it to help people, and to also help myself process this whole thing. It was my idea, I like to use the best and worst parts of my life and to turn them into something creative.”
You can follow Stan’s dramatic progress in the documentary 'Stan,' screening on Channel 9 and 9Now on May 7 at 9:15pm, and the EP and single Thank You is out now, you can hear it right here on iTunes and here on Spotify

½ cup lime juice
